Monroe County Medical Center's Emergency Department provides Comprehensive Level III Emergency Services. The Emergency Room is open 24 hours a day, 7 days a week with both physician and nurse coverage. Twenty-four (24) hour emergency physicians are provided.

The Emergency Department features an Advanced Cardiac Life Support trained and experienced nursing team with twenty-four (24) hour clinical services. This highly trained and experienced team provides quality care and education for over 9000 injured and ill friends and neighbors a year from pediatrics to geriatrics.

Emergency Department

We are a certified chest pain center and part of the St. Thomas chest pain network. We have a good working and communication relationship with cardiologist in Nashville & Louisville and hospitals to expedite care of our patients exhibiting signs of acute coronary syndrome.

We prepare patients to be transferred and have good communication with surrounding hospitals, ground and air ambulance services.

• A complete listing of current medications


• If there is a question of positioning, bring the container with you.


• Health Insurance identification cards.
