Diabetes Education and Support Group
 

The support group is designed to educate and promote appropriate self care. The free sessions are held by professionals including nurses, a certified diabetes educator, a dietitian, a pharmacist, and a physical therapist. The classes are presented on the first Wednesday of every month (except July and August) from 4:00 p.m. until 5:00 p.m. in the hospital conference room. Nutrition Counseling
Outpatient diet education is available through physician referral or at the patient’s request. Please call 270-487-9231 ext. 1191 to schedule a consultation. There is no fee for this service. Education is available for the following issues:

  • Prevention of Heart Disease
  • High Blood Pressure
  • Diabetes
  • Weight Loss
  • Gastrointestinal Disorders
  • Prevention of Osteoporosis
  • Food Allergy or intolerance

CPR Classes
Monroe County Medical Center offers periodic CPR training. For details and a list of upcoming dates, call 270-487-9231 ext. 1157.

 

Cancer Support Group

Cancer Survivors, caregivers, or family members are invited to attend these meetings.  Meetings are held the 1st and 3rd Thursday of each month beginning at 5:00 PM and are held in the hospital conference/education room.
