TeleHealth Services
TeleHealth allows patients to remotely interact with specialty physicians outside of our hospital during their stay here. Currently we only offer Infectious Disease services with Bowling Green Medical center specifically Rebecca Shadowen M.D., Iass El Lakkis M.D., and Patricia Tellez Watson M.D. An order by your attending physician while you are a patient at Monroe County Medical Center is required for these services.
Diabetes Education and Support Group
The support group is designed to educate and promote appropriate self care. The free sessions are held by professionals including nurses, a certified diabetes educator, a dietitian, a pharmacist, and a physical therapist. Classes will be held on the first Wednesday of the month starting at 2:00 p.m. in the hospital conference room. See the schedule below for exact dates and available programs.

Nutrition Counseling
Outpatient diet education is available through physician referral or at the patient's request. Please call 270-487-9231 ext. 1191 to schedule a consultation. There is no fee for this service. Education is available for the following issues:
  • Prevention of Heart Disease
  • High Blood Pressure
  • Diabetes
  • Weight Loss
  • Gastrointestinal Disorders
  • Prevention of Osteoporosis
  • Food Allergy or intolerance
CPR Classes
Monroe County Medical Center offers periodic CPR training. For details and a list of upcoming dates, call 270-487-9231 ext. 1157.
Cancer Support Group
Cancer Survivors, caregivers, or family members are invited to attend these meetings. Meetings are held the 1st and 3rd Thursday of each month beginning at 5:00 PM and are held in the hospital conference/education room.
